Point and Shoot Photography

Tuesday, January 10, 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Photography doesn't have to be complicated. We will look at how you can take great photos with your point and shoot camera. Learning to recognize different types of light and knowing a few 'rules' of composition can make a huge impact on your photographs. We will also explain several of your most important camera controls without getting too technical. And we will discuss different things you can do with your photographs including some free, easy to use, software for those who would like to do a bit of editing. We will also spend about a half

hour photographing in the aquarium practicing what we have learned.

Fee: $45 ($30 for aquarium members) Includes instruction and instructional materials plus admission. Limited to 15 participants.

 Close-Up and Macro Photography

Thursday, January 12, 6:30 p.m until 8:30 p.m.

Close-up photography allows a photographer to explore a wonderful world that many never notice, like a bead of moisture on a flower petal.  Begin with a photo talk by our professional photographers with demonstrations and hands-on exercises.  The Cory’s will cover technical and artistic considerations for successful close-up and macro photography such as distance from a subject, use of flash, composition, realistic or impressionistic style choices, and the special equipment they use.  Bring your camera, manual and other equipment you own.  (Most point and shoot cameras have built-in macro controls symbolized by a small flower.)

Fee: $45 ($30 for aquarium members) Includes instruction and instructional materials plus admission. Limited to 12 participants.
